Why this time it’s brocade, not silk, for Trump’s silk tower

It’s a long-held tradition in Washington that the president gets his own private bed, according to a White House memo obtained by Politico.

But the Trump Bedminster Resort, a project of the billionaire real estate mogul and his family, isn’t the first time the president has shared a bed.

“The president has bedded in the White House numerous times,” according to the memo, written by a senior adviser to the president and obtained by the outlet.

“He also shared his bed with President Nixon in the Watergate era, as well as his wife Melania in their White House residence during the 1990s.”

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
